This is simply a notation regarding microphone use.  As I said before, the desktop USB microphone is actually one of the most accurate microphones that you can use with Dragon NaturallySpeaking.  But the most accurate is of course the corded headset microphone.  However, even though I have said recently that I went back to using the corded headset microphone, that has proved as I have said before, to the far too uncomfortable for my neck.  So I have of course gone back to using the USB desktop microphone.

The only issue that exists with the USB desktop microphone is that it is a desktop microphone, there is a tendency for the microphone to pick up extraneous atmospheric sounds within the area where you are dictating.  So under those circumstances, you will need to have your environment be a bit more quiet, then would be necessary using the corded headset microphone.  And, under most circumstances, that really should not be a problem.

I realize that there are a lot of people who have been having issues with Dragon NaturallySpeaking in one way or another.  And so consequently, that is why these system updates regarding Dragon NaturallySpeaking, at least from my perspective, I have always believed would be quite valuable to this Journal; due to the fact that there are so many people who are using Dragon NaturallySpeaking as a speech program for their computer.

In point of fact, when you go to the Dragon NaturallySpeaking website, and you look at the various types of microphones that Dragon NaturallySpeaking supports you will see that the preferable microphone is of course a corded headset microphone.  But you will also see that there are a number of types of desktop microphones that Dragon NaturallySpeaking supports.  And as I have said previously, the Logitech desktop USB microphone has been designed specifically not only but to include, for the purposes of chat programs.  And of course speech recognition software.
