This is going to be a very comprehensive explanation of a number of different computer programs and computer updates that I made to my system.  Additionally it is going to be an explanation for how various programs are actually behaving in the Windows 7 environment.  There will be aspects of this that are somewhat more technical than other aspects.  However, I am going to try to keep things as easily understandable as possible. I realize that I have not been here for a number of days. What follows are the reasons why.

Windows Live Writer:

To begin with, Windows live writer has to be one of the most difficult programs to work with, from the standpoint of using a speech program.  It has absolutely nothing short of an abomination.  It does not really work very well with Dragon NaturallySpeaking under any circumstances.

It is already widely known that the so-called brainiacs at Microsoft who designed Windows live writer left Windows live writer with a program glitch, whereby as a result, Windows live writer has system hangs when it is in fact being used in the Windows 7 environment.  So right from that standpoint.  Most of the people who are using Windows live writer realized that Microsoft is at best, sloppy.

But when it is considered that Microsoft actually makes a speech engine for Windows seven and that Windows live writer still does not work very well within the speech engine.  It becomes even more clear that Microsoft, like many other corporations, just does not know what the hell it is doing from one department to the next.

In any event, I had composed a very lengthy explanation of my absence over the last three days, well, four days.  And it was all set to go in Windows live writer.  And at the very last minute, a dictation that took me over two hours to compose, was basically trashed by Windows live writer.  Because it hung.  Needless to say if there was any other way for me to do the kind of editing for my Journal/blog, rather than to use Windows live writer; I would rush at that program with the greatest amount of speed possible.  But there is no other program that can present my Journal/blog entries with the degree of professionalism that I demand regarding the presentation of my Journal entries.

So my advice to anyone who is using Dragon NaturallySpeaking in conjunction with Windows live writer is basically to do the following.

1.  Whenever you are going to dictate into Windows live writer I would suggest that which you do is instead of dictating into Windows live writer that you actually open up the DragonPad that comes along with Dragon NaturallySpeaking.  And that you do your dictation into that.  Doing things this way will mean that your dictation is at least preserved and saved.  That way you do not have to worry about losing the information or the dictation you have been doing.

2.  Then, when you want to take your dictation and put it into Windows live writer.  You can either simply copy and paste it into Windows live writer.  Or you can in fact use the dictation box that is part of the Dragon NaturallySpeaking program.  You would then be able to set up the dictation box so that your keystrokes could be duplicated in the dictation box.  And by doing that, you would then be able to have your keystrokes duplicated as they go into Windows live writer.  And of course that would mean that the auto linking that Windows live writer is known for, would be able to be utilized by your dictation.  Because your dictation would be going into Windows live writer as actual keystrokes.

(I began this Journal entry at 2330, on January 13.  But because the hour is late, I am going to stop at this point, saving this Journal entry two disc.  And then I will come back after I have had some rest.)

(Is no 0234 hrs.  And I have gotten a good bit of sleep so I am going to continue with the Journal entry.)

And this really applies only if you are using Dragon NaturallySpeaking and at the same time trying to use Windows live writer.  Because of course Windows live writer does not have similar issues with normalized use, meaning used that does not require a speech program such as Dragon NaturallySpeaking.

Advanced system care professional:

Where I had originally thought.  A few days ago that advanced system care professional was really not very much of an appropriate program to be using with Dragon NaturallySpeaking.  I have since reassessed the use of advanced system care professional.  Because in reality, given how extensive Dragon NaturallySpeaking is, in combination with the amount of system resources and memory that Dragon NaturallySpeaking utilizes one is running; I believe in point of fact that advanced system care professional is absolutely the top drawer in computer utility programming.

As I said, there is a free version as well as the version you would pay approximately $30 per year for use.  But the $30 per year fee is more than worth the money.  Because in reality, you are paying for a computer program that not only cleans your system.  But also maintains your system health on a continued basis.

But the one thing that I think needs to be brought out regarding advanced system care professional is that advanced system care professional actually has auxiliary programs that you as a computer user can purchase or use for free.  To augment advanced system care professional.  And again, under most circumstances, meaning if you are not using Dragon NaturallySpeaking, I would say that these auxiliary programs are probably a very good idea.  But given the fact.  Again, regarding Dragon NaturallySpeaking and memory and system resource use.  It really makes more sense to allow advanced system care professional to basically handle the defragmentation of your system rather than to download or to install the auxiliary program known as, smart defrag.

And as far as a malware protection program, I would suggest that since you are using, if you do choose to do so, advanced system care professional, that a perfect program to augment advanced system care professional is the advanced system care professionals.  Program known as, a malware remover.  And this again, is because I have tested that program alongside of Microsoft security essentials.  And in reality there is virtually no difference in the level of protection.  While the same time, Microsoft security essentials not only has the reputation but is actually more system invasive than the advanced system care professionals malware remover.

Side Note:

At this point I want to explain my absence over the last four days.  What basically happened was, as I said, I was attempting to migrate back from Google Chrome to use Internet Explorer, regarding my browser.  And I was attempting to do so in order to make my retrieval and cataloging of news stories easier.  And as I explained before, this was, and is, basically because Google Chrome does not really have any context menu manner for adding a current page or a series of pages to the bookmarks.  At least not without having to import them.

But on the Internet Explorer, you do have a context menu selection where you can add a current page or a current link or a series of links to the favorites folder.  And in my case, because I am reading so many news articles every day.  I needed to expedite the manner in which I catalogued these news stories so that I can not only have more news story information available to me.

(It is 2:48 AM, and I am still evidently too tired to continue.  So I am going to have a cup of coffee and then go back to sleep for a few more hours.  I am just too tired.  I am actually overtired from all of the exhaustive work it took for me to get my system back.

So I am going to have a cigarette and a cup of coffee and sleep for a few more hours.  Then when I get up, I will continue.  And I will do so regardless of the schedule.)

And it also needs to be noted that advanced system care professional, while it does have ways of optimizing the Google Chrome and the Firefox browser.  Optimization is not necessary for Internet Explorer or Windows 7 because both are self optimizing.  In any event, where I originally thought that advanced system care professional might actually be impeding the functionality of Dragon NaturallySpeaking.  That, of course, has turned out to be just the opposite.

But now we begin to get to the real issue of why I was not present for the last several days.

Google:

1.  Google Chrome -

Google Chrome while being a very good web browser, in point of fact actually becoming the fastest and probably one of the better browsers on the Internet, like I said, does not really make it very easy to handle the marketing.  And while Firefox does make it easier to handle bookmarking, there are issues with Firefox which I will get into below.  But staying with the Google Chrome, the fact is that the bookmarking became rather cumbersome.  And there was no really easy way to handle the importing of bookmarking because Google Chrome in the way that it imports bookmarks made it rather difficult to manage those bookmarks.  Managing bookmarks in Firefox and Internet Explorer is, to say the least, a bit easier.

Google Picasa -

Now, I really do enjoy the Picasa service.  And that is obvious.  Because I use the Picasa service here on WordPress.com.  But there is another side to Google that needs to be looked at.  One of the reasons I was not present for the last several days is because of something rather unscrupulous that Google is doing with their software.

In years past when you would download any Google product part of the download would include a software product known as Google updater.  But in recent years, and especially in this particular experience I have had with the Google Picasa and Google Chrome, what I found was that Google downloaded this extra software, Google updater, and did so with out my consent or my knowledge.  Furthermore, Google updater was actually placed on my computer in such a way so that it was virtually impossible for me to remove the program through control panel or through the utility function of advanced system care professional.

And so this caused me to have to actually go into the registry for the Windows operating system.  Now for those of you who are not really very well versed with computers.  Let me explain.  The registry is a series of programming codes that are actually the entire basis for how your computer operating system functions.  The registry holds all of the programming calls for every aspect of the operation of your computer system.  So when you are first turning on your computer system and you see those really lovely lights in Windows 7 taking shape as you make your way to the logon screen.  During that time, your computer is actually reading every single one of the programming calls in the registry and taking all of those calls into memory.

And so when you have a program that you are not able to eliminate in any other way.  Meaning you are not able to eliminate the programs through control panel where you go into control panel using add and remove programs and remove the program.  Would you are then going to have to do is to go into the actual registry for the operating system and find those exact registry entries and remove those entries.

In reality, the registry is huge.  Because we are not talking about one or 2000 different programming calls.  We are talking about tens of thousands of programming calls.  So the weighted you locate what you are looking for in the registry is by doing a search for the exact term you are looking for.  And when you do locate exactly what you are looking for.  You always have to be aware of where that registry entry is so that the registry entries you are removing our strictly the ones pursuant to that particular program.  As it functions alone.  Because some of the registry entries are actually there has augmented services for other programs on your system.

So when I went into the registry.  It took me several hours to remove Google updater.  And when I tried to remove Google Picasa I was confronted with the same thing.  The downloadable Picasa product from Google is just as insidious to remove as Google updater.  Although Google Picasa and Google Chrome show up in the control panel add and remove programs function.  However, when I removed both of those programs, there were still evidences of them on my machine.  Furthermore, there were still evidences of their control on my machine.

And to make matters worse, Google updater, which had been put on my machine without my consent or my knowledge by Google, had actually been placed into the administrative functions of my computer.  And this had taken place again without my consent or my knowledge.  So naturally I was not really very happy about this.  So again it took me several hours to basically remove all of the evidences of Google from my machine.

And when I was finished I basically had various error conditions on my computer.  And these error conditions were left as a result of the way in which Google Chrome and Google Picasa and especially Google updater had been placed on my machine.  So at that point I basically had to rebuild my entire Windows operating system.  But I had to do it in a manner known as rebuilding it from the inside out.  Now, the reason for this was because I have a separate identity on my computer for my beloved wife Aileen.  Aileen and I both had separate computers.  And I gave Aileen’s computer to one of hers and my very dear friends.  But before I gave that machine to this very dear friend I transferred all of her information on to my computer in a separate ID.  So all of the computer e-mails and all of the writing and everything Aileen did all the way back to 1990 is on my machine in a separate identity.

Windows 7:

Rebuilding Your Machine from the Inside Out -

And for that reason there was no way that I could simply reformat my hard drive and rebuild my machine.  Because there was so much information that it would take me literally several weeks to be able to achieve rebuilding my machine.  And because I have been trying to get back to doing my Journal articles as quickly as I could.  I made the decision instead to rebuild the machine from the inside out.

Now while this sounds like an impossible task.  It really is not.  And in point of fact, it is really not a bad idea to do this every so often.  What you basically do is you go through your control panel where you add and remove programs.  And you then remove every single program on your computer except for the absolute very few programs that your computer needs in order to function.  So when you are through removing programs you only have those programs on your computer that Windows needs in order to operate properly.

You of course keep a list of the programs that you are removing so that you can reinstall them.  But you remove them.  And once you do, you then run a registry cleaner such as Ccleaner, or advanced system care professional.  There are a few other registry cleaners that are extremely reliable.  But I am not mentioning them here because the two that I have used over the last several years have either been Ccleaner or advanced system care professional.  And of the two, I would say that advanced system care professional, as I have already said above, is actually the very best, meaning top drawer, computer system utility that I have ever used.  It is the most comprehensive and it is also the most thorough and at the same time, one of the safest.

So that is what I proceeded to do.  And it took me again several hours of work to remove all the programs and then to basically scrubbed my system.  Meaning running the registry cleaner function of advanced system care professional, repeatedly, to make sure that the system was free of all of the extraneous registry entries that were in fact interfering with my system and causing the various errors that I was finding on my system.

However, I was finally able to get all of this work done by Thursday night.  But by that time, I had been working so hard that I had basically almost gone without hardly any sleep at all.  And I was working feverishly to regain control of my system and put everything back.  So finally by Friday morning I was ready to reinstall all of my software onto my system which I did.  But by the time I was finally through reinstalling everything.  It was almost 4 PM yesterday afternoon.  And I was literally exhausted.  I was so exhausted that I just was not able to do anything except rest.

So I did rest for a few hours.  And then last night I went through and basically ran the computer just to make sure that everything was in the place where it needed to be and that my system was finally operating without any further errors.  But again, after barely getting any sleep for the previous four days.  I was so exhausted that I could not do just about anything.

So I finally just rested until this morning.

Firefox:

Firefox is really at an excellent browser.  But the problem with Firefox is that in the new versions of Firefox, specifically Firefox 9.01, the newsreaders specifically the newsreader, known as Brief will for some reason not display properly inside Firefox.  And so using brief is basically a mistake because it will not work.  And because I did not want to go back to Feeddemon, I wanted to stay with Firefox.  But again, Firefox not only does not interface with Windows live writer very well.  And in point of fact, there is no direct interface to Windows live writer.  But also, the newsreaders in Firefox just are not really that effective.

So, on the one hand, I could go ahead and go back to using Feeddemon.  Or I could try to migrate over to Internet Explorer.

And that is basically what I did.  If Firefox were able to fix the problem with the brief newsreader so that it would display properly I would probably go back to Firefox.  But for some reason as I mentioned several months ago when the CEO of Mozilla (company, I explained that I was not really sure how well Firefox would do without that particular person running the company.  And in point of fact, as you have looked at Firefox and its performance over the subsequent months.  It is become rather evident that Firefox has been having some issues and has not done nearly as well as it did when the original CEO was present at Mozilla.

Internet Explorer, IE 9:

So this basically left me with using IE 9 as my browser.  And in point of fact, this is probably what is necessary because IE 9 is not only, at least at this point in time, the market standard.  But IE 9 is also the baseline for how most of the programming in the world regarding the Windows operating systems, are calibrated.  Meaning that most of the programming that is offered for the Windows operating systems are in fact constructed on the basis of Internet Explorer being the first line browser on the system.  So when these programs are in fact made, they are made.  First we are the Internet Explorer in mind.  And then they are modified or tailored to be able to work with Firefox and Google Chrome.

And again, because of the way that Internet Explorer handles the bookmarking it just makes more sense for me to use Internet Explorer than it does for me to use Firefox or Google Chrome.  Because again, I Dragon NaturallySpeaking version 11, has no functionality, regarding the specific programming calls, in IE 9 or Firefox or Google Chrome.  Because all three browsers advanced so quickly, that even Dragon NaturallySpeaking version 11, has issues with being able to make accurately the programming calls on any given webpage in IE 9 or Firefox 9.01 or Google Chrome.

But, because Internet Explorer is actually the baseline for how computer programs in the world are in fact constructed, in addition to the fact that it is also the baseline for functionality of Dragon NaturallySpeaking.  On that basis, Dragon NaturallySpeaking actually has more functionality in Internet Explorer than it does in Firefox or Google Chrome.  And for that reason, that is another reason I went back to going with IE 9 in order to maintain computer functionality between my browser and Dragon NaturallySpeaking as much is possible.

And that is yet another reason why I have really refrained from using Feeddemon.  Because Feeddemon has absolutely no functionality between itself and Dragon NaturallySpeaking.  Meaning if I wanted to use Dragon NaturallySpeaking to execute anything in Feeddemon, I would have to do so by using the program call inside Dragon NaturallySpeaking, known as the MouseGrid.  And by using that I would have to position my mouse at various places on the screen just to be able to have the mouse execute the different aspects of Feeddemon.

But with the Internet Explorer, I can actually issued various calls such as closing one tab or going to one tab or another.  And even though I still have to use the MouseGrid, because Internet Explorer has so much more functionality, using Internet Explorer just makes more sense.  Additionally, by using Internet Explorer.  There is a feed reader already built into the browser.  And that freed reader works perfect.  And again, because the programming calls of Dragon NaturallySpeaking works very well with Internet Explorer.  It means I have less effort and having to research and gather these news stories.

Dragon NaturallySpeaking:

I have to say at the outset that between Dragon NaturallySpeaking version 10 as compared to Dragon NaturallySpeaking version 11, Dragon NaturallySpeaking version 10 is by far the more stable version of Dragon NaturallySpeaking.  I am not going to say that Dragon NaturallySpeaking version 11 is not any good.  Because it is.  But at the same time, because Dragon NaturallySpeaking version 11 has become so huge and has defined itself to take into account so many different types of dictation sources, or microphones, Dragon NaturallySpeaking version 11, has become increasingly more complex to use and to install.  And it has become far more temperamental pursuant to the Windows 7 operating environment.  And part of the fall of that is Microsoft.  Because Microsoft along with Firefox and Google has been improving and advancing their computer software to such an extent that we are Dragon NaturallySpeaking version 11 was made specifically to be able to interface correctly with Windows 7.  The moment that happened, Microsoft came out with Windows 7 service pack 1.  And when Microsoft did that, then of course some of the functionality that Dragon NaturallySpeaking version 11 had been created for no longer worked.

But in point of fact, as I was going through and reinstalling my Dragon NaturallySpeaking.  I of course had to make the decision of whether or not to stay with version 10 or go with version 11.  And because Dragon NaturallySpeaking meaning the makers of Dragon NaturallySpeaking, are basically taking the attitude that they are trying to move people who use their product forward as much is possible, Dragon NaturallySpeaking is only getting a certain amount of support anymore for Dragon NaturallySpeaking version 9 and version 10.

And so consequently I had to go through and completely do a complete reinstall of Dragon NaturallySpeaking.  Now as I said before, the best way to do this, if you are using Dragon NaturallySpeaking 10.  There is actually a remover tool from the makers of Dragon NaturallySpeaking that you can run that will eliminate all evidences of Dragon NaturallySpeaking on your system.  And while that remover tool is basically designed for Dragon NaturallySpeaking version 10.  It will also work on Dragon NaturallySpeaking version 11.

So to begin with, how you get rid of Dragon NaturallySpeaking version 11 off of your system is that you go back to the executable downloaded file from Dragon NaturallySpeaking version 11.  You execute that file.  And when you do that program.  The installation program, will in fact ask you if you want to remove or repair or to modify your Dragon NaturallySpeaking.  In the case of removing, you of course select to have the program removed.

Once you have done that, you are looking at having just about 95% of Dragon NaturallySpeaking removed.  So the next thing you do is you run the remover tool that is basically designed for Dragon NaturallySpeaking 10 but that will work on Dragon NaturallySpeaking 11.  And once you have run that tool.  There is absolutely no evidence of Dragon NaturallySpeaking on your system in any way, except any of the user files that you may have in fact saved to an alternate directory.

So then at that point, which you need to do is after you have rebooted your machine, is you run a registry cleaner like Ccleaner or advanced system care professional.  So you basically scrub your system completely so that there is no evidence whatsoever in the registry or in any other way of Dragon NaturallySpeaking on your system.

The next thing that you do is of course you are going to put Dragon NaturallySpeaking back onto your system.  So you probably are going to start with version 10.  And when you do there are two ways that you can go about installing Dragon NaturallySpeaking 10 on your system.  The more expeditious way is to simply install the program and once it is installed before you create any user files whatsoever.  You immediately upgrade to Dragon NaturallySpeaking version 11.

But I have found that if you do that what ends up happening is that the user file that you created Dragon NaturallySpeaking 11 does not have as much functionality or effectiveness as if you were to have created a user profile in Dragon NaturallySpeaking version 10, and then have that user profile migrate into Dragon NaturallySpeaking 11.

So that is what I basically did, I installed Dragon NaturallySpeaking 10.  What I did so, I then created a user profile and Dragon NaturallySpeaking 10.  I went through the entire process where I trained the words and I even did a couple of dictations.  Once I was done with that, I then went ahead and installed Dragon NaturallySpeaking version 11.  And when I did the upgrade, Dragon NaturallySpeaking version 11 migrated my user profile with all of the modifications I had made into Dragon NaturallySpeaking version 11.

And as a result of doing it in that particular manner my user profile came out with a higher degree of accuracy and efficiency and much less memory use and system resource use.

I am not going to deny that for many people using Dragon NaturallySpeaking is really very difficult.  And part of the reason for that is because the people who make Dragon NaturallySpeaking almost require as a result of making a product that people using Dragon NaturallySpeaking have to be at least somewhat well-versed in how to maintain or to manipulate the various aspects of the operating system of their computer.  And of course most people who are using computers are not that well versed in manipulating the operating aspect of their computer.  Because most people who are using computers are oriented toward using their computers rather than maintaining their computers.  This is why the industry of computer maintenance is so huge.

But given the fact that Dragon NaturallySpeaking is so complex and still almost demands that the users of Dragon NaturallySpeaking have some degree of operational knowledge of their computer.  I would still say that Dragon NaturallySpeaking is absolutely the Cadillac of speech programs.  And I would say that anyone is having any kind of issues with Dragon NaturallySpeaking.  They should feel free to contact myself or anyone else who has been using the product for a number of years like I have.  Because all of us are extremely sensitive to everyone else who is using Dragon NaturallySpeaking.  And I do not know about anyone else but I can speak for myself.  If anyone is having problems with Dragon NaturallySpeaking.  All they have to do is communicate with me and I will do whatever I can to be of assistance to them.  Because I believe in the product and I know that there are a number of people in this world who are using Dragon NaturallySpeaking, not simply for convenience it because of physical disabilities or limitations.

And because most of the world is more interested in charging as much money as they can for their service.  I choose to go in the other direction.  So that if someone needs assistance with their computer instead of charging money for my giving them assistance.  I simply give them my assistance without charging any money without expecting anything in return, and to do so simply in the spirit of what I really believe our world needs more of, as a friend.

So with all that being said, I would say that the best choice for anyone who is using Dragon NaturallySpeaking is to continue to upgrade their product to version 11.  I now understand that Dragon NaturallySpeaking is immediately come out with a new version called 11.5.  And for anyone who is paying attention to computers we know exactly why that is happening.  Dragon NaturallySpeaking is been caught sort of with their pants down because Windows 7 has made advancements and so as Internet Explorer and Dragon NaturallySpeaking had already produced version 11 to try to be compatible with Windows 7 and 99.  But by the time they had made those corrections i.e. nine in Windows 7 had moved beyond where Dragon NaturallySpeaking was.  So, suddenly there is now a version 11.5.

On the one hand, we the users are Dragon NaturallySpeaking almost feel as if we are being taken advantage of by Dragon NaturallySpeaking because the moment we purchase one of their products Dragon NaturallySpeaking comes out with another upgrade that is supposed to work better and yet they are charging tons of money for this new upgrade.  Some the matter how often we might upgrade as users we are constantly being confronted with not any kind of free upgrade.  But we are being told that we need to upgrade the product and we have to pay Dragon NaturallySpeaking.  Lots of money to be able to upgrade.  And of course that is one of the negatives of using Dragon NaturallySpeaking.  Because they do not provide any real positive free upgrades.  And part of the reason for that is I believe, that the people of Dragon NaturallySpeaking are basically is unscrupulous and is dishonest and is cruel and selfish as the people at Google and most of the other people in the world are.  They could very easily make these upgrades free and easier for the users like myself and others to install and have access to.  But instead Dragon NaturallySpeaking is taking the attitude that as far as they are concerned they want to get as much money from you as possible and they do not really give a damn if you have to go broke using their product.  They just want your money.

And that is unfortunate.  Because the product is actually an excellent product.  But unfortunately the people a Dragon NaturallySpeaking are extremely selfish.  They are very arrogant and they do not really give a damn about the user.  Because all they care about is getting their money.

So, my suggestion to all people who are using Dragon NaturallySpeaking is that what you basically need to do is to stop chasing Dragon NaturallySpeaking.  And this is what I have decided to do.  Even though Dragon NaturallySpeaking is come out with version 11.5 I am not going to upgrade to 11.5.  Because the upgrade is not free.  And I refuse to go out and spend $200 just to upgrade to 11.51.  I know full well that within six months after that Dragon NaturallySpeaking will come out with another version where they will want another $200.  I am not going to play that game.

So, my suggestion to people who are using Dragon NaturallySpeaking version 10, is if you are not offered a free upgrade to version 11 by Dragon NaturallySpeaking, then do not upgrade.  Stay with version 10.  Version 10 is extremely stable.  And version 10 has 99% of all of the programming calls that you will need for Windows seven and i.e. nine and Firefox and Google Chrome.

The people at Dragon NaturallySpeaking have to finally learn the lesson that they do not have the right to basically bastardize the user.  And that is what they are basically doing.  Because they are constantly putting up these upgrades out there and demanding that we the users come up with hundreds and hundreds of dollars to buy the upgrades when Dragon NaturallySpeaking does not have the kindness or the responsibility of offering any kind of free upgrades to their product like almost every other programmer in the world does.

And like I said, the only reason that I upgraded to version 11, was that, before my darling wife Aileen died, we purchased version 11.  But I will be damned if I am going to spend hundreds of dollars for incremental upgrades from Dragon NaturallySpeaking.  Just because the people at Dragon NaturallySpeaking are so extremely selfish.  That is not going to happen.  And so I probably am not going to upgrade to anything beyond version 11 until several other versions have come out.  Because there is no need to.  Just like I am not going to upgrade to Windows 8.  From what I have heard, Windows 8 is basically soldier Cony and on the part of Microsoft that Microsoft is almost taking total control of your computer system.  But in addition, Microsoft is actually pretty much shutting out third-party computer programmers.  And even though Windows 8 is still in the beta stage the word on the street is that nobody likes the direction that Microsoft is taking Windows 8.  Nobody likes what Microsoft is doing.  Because they are basically shutting out third-party programmers who have provided a tremendous amount of functionality and support for the computer users in the Windows operating system.

So, all things considered, like I said, if you are using Dragon NaturallySpeaking version 10 and you do not have the opportunity for a free upgrade to version 11.  Then I would stay with version 10.  If you are using version 11, I would under no circumstances spend the $199 or basically $200 to upgrade to version 11.5.  It is ridiculous to do that.  There is no reason to spend that kind of money for an incremental upgrade.

Epilogue:

So that is basically where I have been for the last five days.  And that is why I have not been doing any Journal entries.  I had to resolve a number of system problems and I was working day and night feverishly to do so.  And finally, last night I was so exhausted that I slept all the way until just this morning.  But unfortunately, if you do not have the money to pay some technician to come in and service your system.  You have to do it yourself.  And because I have been installing computers and software since 1966.  I generally know what to do better than most technical people.  It is just that at age 61.  I tend to get a little bit more tired than I used to.

So now that everything has finally been completed.  I will get back to modifying the comments and doing more journal articles and I can move forward.  So you can expect a number of news articles over the weekend and starting next week.  There will be of course my financial analysis news articles as well as my political activism and advocacy news articles as well.  And I will also be able to do more personal journal entries which I know some of you enjoy.

I am sorry I have been absent.  But as you can see from the foregoing, I really had my hands full and I was simply trying to get everything done as quickly as I could.

But I wanted to make this very long, lengthy explanation so that all of you would understand exactly the best way of using the different programs that I use on a regular basis, and that many of you also use.  A lot of times the programmers will not tell you about some of the things I have.  And it is certain that Microsoft at Dragon NaturallySpeaking will not tell you about these things.  Either.  Just like the makers of Windows live writer will not tell you about their incompatibility with various speech programs.

So it all boils down to being able to manipulate your system yourself.  If you are not able to pay some technician to do so.  And it falls to people like me who actually do care about the user to try to share as much information with the user as possible to help all of you to be able to use your machines better without having the same kind of frustrations that I and others like me are going through.  There is no reason that you should be battling with your computer.  They were not meant to be battlegrounds.  Computers were meant to make our lives easier not more complex not more stressful.  But in reality computers have become so complicated and so overridden with security and all these other issues that computers have become very difficult for people to use.  Very unfriendly.  Even contentious.  And that is not what they were designed for.  They were designed to eliminate a lot of the paperwork and they were designed to make things easier and that is not what has happened.

So I am committed for the duration of my life to doing anything I possibly can to make your computer experience more enjoyable and more effective and to do so as I said before on the basis of something that our world does not believe in anymore.  Friendship.  I do not believe any of you should have to go out and spend hundreds of dollars to fix your computer.  When there are people like myself who actually care about each other and care about this world so much that we do not really mind giving our expertise and our experience if it is going to help you to get better use out of your machines.  It only makes sense.  If the fair and kinder thing to do.

It is also the spirit of how my darling wife Aileen and I maintained our marriage.  To do the greater good.  And so I have worked over the last two days to do this one dictation that I am finishing now.  And I have done so because I do care about each and every one of you and how much you have to struggle with your computers because of all of the unfairness that is being taken against you by the various computer programmers and software companies.  And that is not fair.  Our world has become filled with ugliness and selfishness.  There has to be someone who stands up and says no.  And I do not know about how many other people there are in the world, although I am sure there are millions.  And as far as I am concerned I am going to be one of those millions.  I am going to be one who stands up and says no.

so you can bet your bottom dollar that I will always do everything I can in my Journal articles not only to ask harder questions.  But – the hardest questions I can.  And to do so.  Always with one thought in mind to be a friend to anyone who reads my journal articles and to help anyone who is reading my Journal articles to ask better questions of themselves and their families and their friends and to improve their life.  To have an easier time in their life.  I do not want anyone having to suffer the way my darling Aileen suffered.  I do not want anyone to suffer with a broken computer that is not broken but simply needs some few things fixed.  And with all the people out there charging an arm and a leg for any service.  Like I said I am offering my Journal articles not because I want anything but simply because I want to do something that the world has forgotten how to do.  To be a friend.

Thank you very much for listening.

And I most certainly will be writing later.
